The night of November the 5th was one of the stronger auroral nights in Ireland. Interestingly, reports were coming from all over Europe, some reaching as far south as Bulgaria! It looks like forecasted impact was quite a bit underestimated and a major geomagnetic hit arrived a day earlier and much stronger than it was initially expected.
Nevertheless, the below are our own images of the Aurora in Greystones, Ireland. At its maximum, around 22:00 it was also visible with the naked eye, although faintly. The VLF plotter has showed strong impact ionosphere had not only on the Icleandic path, but also on the path to the US (NAA transmitter, red graph)
